Rooted in community and energetic herbalism, this six month course meets weekly on Wednesdays from 10-11 AM (EST) via Zoom, and offers an interactive and mentorship-driven space where herbalists refine their skills and grow in confidence. This program is for those ready to take the next step—whether deepening their clinical practice, strengthening their intuitive connection with plants, or learning to apply herbal energetics in real-world scenarios. Through plant journeying meditations, case studies, advanced herbal training with industry leaders, participants gain real-world experience and connect with a supportive community while refining their practitioner approach. Key features of the Collaborative are: 1. Mentorship and guidance of Kat Maier, a leading expert in herbal energetics, who joins us monthly to help participants sharpen their clinical thinking and herbal energetic skills. 2. Lifetime access to Tammi Sweet’s Anatomy & Physiology online course plus study group where we work through the course together as well as live bi-monthly Q&A with Tammi. Additionally, members gain ongoing access to a private online community, where they can connect with peers, download exclusive resources, and continue discussions beyond our live sessions. This is more than a course—it’s a dynamic, supportive community of herbalists dedicated to growth, collaboration, and lifelong learning. Required Reading: Energetic Herbalism: A Guide to Sacred Plant Traditions Integrating Elements of Vitalism, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine by Kat Maier. Certification: Attendance at all sessions is required to receive a certificate of completion of 12 hours of practitioner development skills, 33 hours of Basic Human Sciences and 6 hours Materia Medica. This is your opportunity to step into a thriving herbal community, gain confidence as a practitioner, and integrate energetic herbalism into every aspect of your work. Are you ready to take your practice to the next level and step into a thriving herbal community? Join us in The Herbalist’s Collaborative! The Collaborative meets weekly for six months via Zoom on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM. Monthly format... Week 1: Plant Journey Meditations with Justine Ring The first Wednesday of every month is dedicated to deepening our connection with the plants in our Materia Medica. We begin with a plant journey meditation where we use our senses, intuition and direct perception to intimately explore the plant that we are working with that month. Through this practice we are learning about plants through an intuitive and energetic lens, strengthening our sense of taste and familiarizing ourselves with the physiological effects of the five flavors. We will work with the same plant throughout the month in order to significantly strengthen our knowledge of our herbal allies. We journal, meditate, make medicine, create illustrations and anything else that inspires us to connect with the plant.    Each student will receive an herb to research and present to the group. Week 2: Case Studies with Amber Merkens On the second Wednesday of each month, we will practice herbal consultations through case studies explored from an energetic perspective. We will learn to use SOAP notes, a standardized method of documentation used by healthcare providers to record patient information, assessments, and care plans. Together, we will develop energetics-based protocols for clients. Members are encouraged to start offering herbal consultations to friends, family or existing clients with a goal of working with a minimum of one client per month. Each month a student will be selected to present a client's case to the group for peer review. Week 3: Clinical Mentorship with Kat Maier The Collaborative gathers on the third Wednesday of the month to receive mentorship and support with clients cases and protocol development with a strong focus on energetics. "Kat Maier RH, (AHG) is the founder and director of Sacred Plant Traditions, a center for herbal studies in Charlottesville, Virginia. One of her greatest accomplishments has been to train many clinical herbalists who have gone onto to begin other schools, apothecaries or open practices. In clinical practice for over 30 years, Kat teaches internationally at universities, conferences, and herbal schools. She is a founding member of Botanica Mobile Clinic, a nonprofit dedicated to providing accessible herbal medicine to local communities. This grew out of her school’s free clinic which was one of the first on the east coast and went on to be a template for other schools. She began her study of plants as a Peace Corps volunteer, and her training as a Physician’s Assistant allows her to weave the language of biomedicine into her practice of traditional energetic herbalism. She is coauthor of Bush Medicine of San Salvador Island, Bahamas. As a passionate steward of the plants, Kat also served as president of United Plant Savers and was the recipient of the organization’s first Medicinal Plant Conservation Award.”   It is an honor to have Kats expertise as a seasoned and esteemed practitioner of energetic herbalism. Kat is the author of The Herbalist’s Collaboratives required reading, Energetic Herbalism: A Guide to Sacred Plant Traditions Integrating Elements of Vitalism, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine. Week 4: Tammi Sweets Anatomy & Physiology Online Course We will meet monthly to work through Tammi’s course together. Accountability and support is invaluable when it comes to online courses! Plus, Tammi will be with us for bi-monthly Q&A’s! "Tammi Sweet loves to teach. It’s her superpower. She has a magical ability to connect with almost anyone when teaching and help them understand complex material. For over 35 years, Tammi has shared her gift of teaching at various colleges, massage schools and herbal schools throughout the country. Her background in physiology makes her an invaluable resource to developing herbalists and massage therapists alike, who want to deepen their foundation as practitioners. In addition to her physiology expertise, Tammi is also a practitioner and teacher of herbal medicine. She is deeply influenced by her studies with accomplished herbalists, including Rosemary Gladstar, Pam Montgomery, Tom Brown, Jr. and especially Stephen Buhner’s pioneering work on the heart as an organ of perception. In 2007, Tammi set out to “combine all the things I love into one curriculum and teach whatever I wanted in ways that made sense--on my own terms.” So, she and her partner Kris Miller launched the Heartstone Center for Earth Essentials. At Heartstone, Tammi and Kris run their Herbal Apprenticeship. Tammi also offers online courses that integrate physiology and plant medicine with Tammi’s love of teaching, such as her signature course Anatomy & Physiology for Herbalists. The other branch of her teaching is Cannabis. In 2019 Tammi offered her first online course in Medicine Making with Cannabis. 2020 brought about her six month long Online Cannabis Grow course. Teaching these two courses led to publishing two books; The first; The Wholistic Healing Guide to Cannabis and her second, The Beginner’s Guide to Growing Cannabis. Tammi’s vision is for Heartstone to co-create a space with the land, where people can come "home," take refuge and find the sacred both on the land and within themselves and facilitate healing. When not teaching, Tammi loves to spend time alone and ‘recharge’ by exploring the land, writing, and hiking."

The Herbalists Collaborative has been a very welcoming & enriching space to build my clinical herbal practice. It was totally the missing piece in my herbal education & I'm so glad that Mary Blue told me about it! Justine gives so much of herself to make sure we are all getting the most out of each meeting. It's the right balance of laidback, informative & collaborative. Learning a lot from these folks!

Kathryn H.

The Herbalists Collaborative is a space to collaborate and share with others in a way that enhances our understanding of consultations. It is such a wonderful offering as it supports growing herbalists to build confidence, and develop their practices. It provides support for folks who want to continue to be in a learning environment while applying their herbal skills.

Hi! I'm Justine, founder of Healers Harvest and facilitator of The Herbalist's Collaborative.

I warmly invite you to join me in The Herbalist's Collaborative, where we connect deeply with plants, ourselves, and each other through an energetics-based practice of herbal medicine. This program is the next step on your path towards a career in herbalism, providing a space to put your learned skills into practice.

Throughout my own herbal journey, I was constantly seeking the next teacher, the next course, the next book, hoping to eventually feel ready and qualified to practice herbalism. I created The Herbalist's Collaborative to be everything I wished for after earning my first herbalism certificate many moons ago. Here, you will develop your unique offerings and gain the experience necessary to move forward with confidence, supported by a community of fellow healers.

As your group facilitator, my intention is to create a safe, supportive, and growth-oriented environment where you can develop your offerings into the most authentic and fulfilling expression of yourself. I am dedicated to your growth and will be available to support you throughout the program. I am here to hold space for you as you grow and bloom.

With love,

Justine
